We Love SoFlo

A movement of people bringing good news to South Florida by showing our love

Everyday I walk by the security guards that watch over my building, make small talk and give the usual polite smile.

One day I made conversation with a security guard and found out he recently immigrated to the US from Sudan. He told me he actually worked as an Electrical Engineer in Sudan however since coming to the US he couldn't work as an EE since his degree didn't carry over unless he took the TOEFLs and other various tests.

I went home and felt a desire to help this security guard so I found info about TOEFL prep classes, test taking, as well as scholarships for International students and printed it off. The next time I saw him I gave him the information along with a WeLoveSoFlo card and it started up so conversation about God and church. It was pretty cool.

What a great and creative way to serve someone. I am sure that not only is he appreciative for what you did but now encouraged and motivated to continue with his Electrical Engineering career. You showed the love that Jesus encourages us to show. The sacrifice is not much compared to the reward. Great job!

What a thoughtful thing to do. I am sure that was such a great encouragement for him. Its also nice that you take the time to talk to the people who watch over your neighborhood. So many times we ignore the people who serve us on a regular basis.
