We Love SoFlo

A movement of people bringing good news to South Florida by showing our love

This week I was in Walmart trying to buy some a gift for a new neighbor. However, in
the process, I realized that I had left my cell phone somewhere in one of the aisles. I circled back to look for my phone without success. I decided I would ask for someone's help, and a woman named Maudi was nice enough to stop to see what I needed.

I told her the situation and even before I could make a request for anything, she responded by giving me her phone and telling me, "Here, take my phone and your purse. I will watch your cart while you search all the aisles you went through and I will wait here."

I couldn't believe it! I was just hoping I would get one phone call out of someone, but this woman immediately, without a second thought did everything she could to help me. Not only did she let me call, she let me take her phone up and down the aisles. Not only that, but she was willing to watch my stuff while I did it.

I eventually had to go to customer service to ask if someone had turned it in and sure enough, they had. I called Maudi, whose number I had in my recent calls file, and told her I found my phone at customer service. Her response was, "there are still good people in the world." I quickly responded, "and you are one of them; thank you for your help."

I was so thankful that not only someone was honest enough to turn in my phone, but that another someone was kind enough to go above and beyond to help me when I needed it. There are still good people in the world, and loving SoFlo has helped me to be aware of more of that.
